grammy award winner & multi grammy nominated luisito quintero grew up with the latin american and african tradition of percussion. his father is just as much a percussionist as his uncle carlos nene quintero and his cousin roberto quintero . he became a member of the orquesta simfonica de venezuela , but soon appeared with ensembles such as grupo guaco and el trabuco venezolano and toured with oscar d león . he then moved to new york, where he initially worked with latin jazz musicians such as willie colón , eddie palmieri , tito puente and celia cruz . he then turned to the fusion of jazz, funk, salsa and african music and performed with george benson , herbie hancock , ravi coltrane and toshiko akiyoshi , but also with pop musicians such as gloria estefan and marc anthony. his first album “percussion maddness” was produced by louie vega & lq and was released on bbe records. now 8 years later, re-released on vega records with 4 new tracks also produced by louie vega will be released on a double pack vinyl in two parts, one a double pack 12” and the second a double pack 7” vinyl. enjoy the brazilian, jazz, african, house, & afro-cubano sounds of grand percussionist luisito quintero on this very special vinyl release

blaq numbers welcomes explorer of the humankind back to the stable with his latest work, -where did y’all go?-. combining lots of handmade drums & machines with hazy synths, he explored a new set of influences while writing and recording from 2018-2019. the four original compositions now find themselves on a brand new 12” backed by remixes from detroit’s byron the aquarius and larry houl. -where did y’all go?- expands on eoth s previously established house sound and brings in elements of bedroom pop, with lyrical content exploring the modern conundrum of maintaining relationships in the age of social media. not much is known about the lyon native, but his music has built him a keen worldwide following since his debut productions surfaced in 2017.

ltd repress! dominik eulberg’s second ep on his label apus apus features the track “roter gitterling“ (eng. basket stinkhorn / red cage) on the a side and „tintenfischpilz“ (engl. octopus stinkhorn / devil s fingers) on the flip side. a. roter gitterling the fleshy red cage of this kind of mushroom reminds of a merging of an upside down shopping string bag and an alien. not allowing any objection, the track strides forward with determination towards a musical interpretation of this strange being. a fulminant kick drum counteracts in a very prosaic way the bitter-sweet pads. in a very narrative fashion the track gathers speed and flocks diverse soundscapes and disembogues in a break of harmonical expanse. conciliatory and in a hedonistic way the bass drum eventually stitches together what belongs to each other. b. tintenfischpilz this bizarre looking extraterrestrial mushroom evokes at first glance the image of a dead octopus or radioactive vegetable. as in a science fiction movie four to six tentacles sprout and raise out of a common stinkhorn and later spread into a star shape look. in an unparalleled manner this stunning progression is executed musically by eulberg with a high degree of elaboration. all done with elegant blend of continuous progression and permanent change the track wreathes itself towards heaven, whereas fragmented melody artifacts pour into the shape of a miraculous emergence.

the mystery artist or cane is the dance floor outlet of funckarma aka don & roel funcken (nl). music for the body but with an increase in cognitive focus, the mystery artist sound has the rawness and darkness of funckarma with a tilt towards techno, electro and acid. >gwane mone< sees the return of the ma after a first release on skam records, with a unique blend of heavy bass lines and offbeat electro rhythms. the a-side starts with the dark slow mood of >jinn<, a track defining the general atmosphere of the record. the pace gets picked up through >oid trazzle<, a modern electro killer with that distinct attention to detail of the funcken brothers. the b-side continues with the mental bass of >gwane mone<, a brooding subbass line accompanies an offbeat rhythm structure. the ep finishes with >ssiwsk<, a track closer to the cane sound and with a distinct intent for the underground dance floor. the gwane mone ep builds up through the four tracks and therefore works equally well as a dj-tool and as an up-tempo home listening record
